This document explains how UNISCAN (“the App”) handles information when you use it. We aim to collect the minimum necessary data and use it only to provide core scanning and device-linking features.

1) What the App does
- Scans 1D/2D barcodes on Android devices.
- Creates a device identifier (EQID) to distinguish installations.
- Sends scan results to linked PCs through the UniScan backend (WebSocket/WSS).
- Shows delivery status (queued/sent/failed) for operational visibility.

2) Information we may process
Depending on how you use the App, we may process:
- Camera data: The camera feed is used to scan barcodes. We do not store or upload the live camera stream unless you explicitly send scan results.
- Scan content: The decoded barcode text (and optional images if your workflow uses image upload).
- Device identifier (EQID): A generated identifier to manage device linking and routing.
- App metadata: Timestamps and basic operational logs needed to show delivery status.
- Network information: IP address may be processed by the server for security and troubleshooting.

3) How we use information
We use the above data to:
- Provide barcode scanning and results history.
- Route scan results to linked PCs you have enabled.
- Display delivery states and help operators troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical problems.

4) Data sharing
We do not sell personal information.
We may share data only as needed to provide the service:
- With our backend infrastructure (servers and database) that deliver scan results and store status logs.
- With service providers that help operate our infrastructure (e.g., hosting), under appropriate safeguards.

5) Data retention
Retention depends on your configured workflow and server settings:
- Scan records and delivery logs may be stored to provide operational history and status tracking.
- You may request deletion where applicable (see Contact).

6) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data. Data in transit is protected using encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS) when supported by your configuration.

7) Children’s privacy
UNISCAN is intended for business/operational use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8) Your choices
You can:
- Stop using the App at any time.
- Contact us to request information or deletion, where applicable.
